Structure and challenges of Governance in Pakistan: Essay
Structure and challenges of Governance in Pakistan: Essay |
Governance
is still considered as a distant dream in the case of Pakistan. Governance is a
cornerstone, and it requires the country to work in a particular direction to
steer it for a guided direction to reach the pinnacle of success and progress.
In Pakistan, we have experienced several challenges in the practical
application of governance. Political stability is paramount in this regard for
the practical solution regarding governance.
Recently,
it has been evident from the last few episodes that Pakistan is witnessing
problems relating to political polarization. It is crippling the functioning of
governance in the long run where everyone is at dagger drawn, including family,
society, and state. Everyone is equally responsible for this division, which is
growing with each passing day. The ruling party has changed the landscape and
increased polarization with little room for moderation.
Nevertheless,
the role of the opposition is an impetus in this regard. However, in the
current scenario, law formulation bodies are left without any option for
consensus on the ground. It is an alarming situation; differences are hard to
bridge, and rulers are finding it difficult t find political solutions. Leaders
tried to change the circumstances for their good and tried to change the
overall situation. This scenario makes it impossible to deliver as per the
desired standard. Thus, it is a testing time for the democratic system.
The
situation is precarious, casting a shadow on state institutions for increasing
rift in political parties. Everyone takes institutions for their means and
services, and once they decree otherwise, they would be labeled as traitors
instead of partisans. All key positions are being filled based on favoritism.
The
agenda of change is evident from the fact, and it is being observed that rulers
use hate speech and delaying tactics to get the maximum from the national
exchequer. The key institutions are often maligned and considered prejudiced
and face the brunt of the criticism. When the situation is not under control,
it would be labeled as a foreign conspiracy interfering in the internal matters
of the state.
All
the above-discussed challenges are evident that a financial crisis is on the
verge, and all challenges are compounding with each passing day, and Pakistan
is on the brink of crisis. No doubt, covid-19 is adding insult to injury, and
global economic factors are exacerbating the situation on the economic front.
We are facing several economic drawbacks only due to mismanagement on the
economic front. The convergence of all problems at the political and economic
level is pushing Pakistan into abysmal turbulence and anarchy.
